Climate Trumped

By Everald Compton - posted Monday, 12 June 2017

Can I ask you to join me in campaigning against one thing – Pollution in all its forms – and forget about the absolute chaos of the Climate Change fiasco.

I know that every day I do something to pollute the world. So do you.

We do it by carelessly polluting and wasting water, accidently destroying the habitat of flora and fauna, driving our cars too much, wasting energy by the way we live, throwing trash into rivers and oceans, allowing miners to destroy landscape and not replace it, etc, etc.

7.5 billion people must stop doing this now.

Governments must set pollution standards for the way in which we act in our homes, our workplaces, our places of entertainment and the way we travel. And we must be taxed until we comply.

Only then will we have a clean world, free of pollution.

Does the current political establishment have the ability to lead us to this healthy state. No. Emphatically No.

But we are not without hope in the matter. In all political parties, there are a handful of good guys (male and female) who have the commitment and ability to lead us, but they are swamped by self serving drones and party hacks who are a total waste of space.

Let’s find the good guys and move on this. It can be done.

Here in Australia, we must ensure that all existing political parties are crushed at the next election. Then, we can put the remaining good guys together in an alliance that will not only get pollution under control, but will change the stupid economics that politicians now follow and replace it with a strategy based on intelligence, skill, achievement, compassion and fair play.

There will be many who read this article and say, ‘Poor old Everald. At 85 he is out there with the fairies and just has to stop drinking that rare single malt scotch whisky that is clouding his brain (even though it is quite superb).’

This may well be a sound assessment of me, but, at least, out of the geriatric fog, I will not just state my conviction, I will rise up out of my wheelchair and try valiantly to achieve what I have just written.

And God help any hack politician or sensationalist journalist who gets in my way.

As for Donald Trump, may he go down in history as evidence of how democracy has failed us all.
