Fawaz Turki

Fawaz Turki grew up in a Palestinian refugee camp in Beirut. He spent his youth in Australia, and in 1967 taught at Northcote High School in Melbourne.

He wrote his first book in Paris when he lived there as a struggling writer in the early 1970s. He has made the US his residence for the last 32 years. He is a dual citizen of both the United States and Australia.
