Deirdre Pirro is an international lawyer who lives and works in Italy. She is the International Relations Officer for a United Nations' recognised NGO, the International Court of the Environment Foundation (ICEF) which has its headquarters in Rome. She is also a freelence writer and author of Italian Sketches: The Faces of Modern Italy, published by The Florentine Press. Her writing focuses on modern Italy, its people, its history and its customs. She lives in Florence very near the Church of Santa Croce and is part of an informal group of ex-pat Australians who meet once a month for dinner and who nostalgically always eat meat pies and pavlova on Anzac Day. You can follow her on Twitter @dp_in_florence or contact her at ddpirro@gmail.com.
