Vishal Mangalwadi
Dr Vishal Mangalwadi is an international lecturer, social reformer, political columnist, and author of 14 books. Born in India in 1949 he studied philosophy at universities, in Hindu ashrams, and at L'Abri Fellowship in Switzerland. In 1976 he turned down several job offers in the West to return to India where he and his wife, Ruth, founded a community to serve the rural poor. Vishal was put in gaol by corrupt provincial officials for his stand for the poor and for the truth
Vishal's first book, The World of Gurus, was published in 1977. Since then he has lectured in 35 countries. One of his more recent books Truth and Transformation gained him an even greater readership with a western audience. Vishal's latest book is about the Bible's important place in history released in 2011 and is called The Book that Made your World published by Thomas Nelson. He is visiting Australia between the 8 – 16 October 2011 to do a series of lectures on his new book.
