Greg Wallis

Greg Wallis is the Consul General & Trade Commissioner in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Greg hails from beautiful Kangaroo Island, South Australia, and returns there to visit family and friends and enjoy its tranquility whenever possible. After several positions with Telstra in Adelaide, he moved to Sydney and worked as International commercial Manager with Philips Electronics Projects group, helping to build the company’s business in Asia, Latin America and the Middle East.

In 1997 Greg moved to Sao Paulo for the first time where he spent 2 years as a Regional Director with Philips. From there he moved to the cold prairies of Saskatoon, Canada, where he worked for traffic technology company International Road Dynamics (IRD) as Vice President of International Business and was instrumental in developing IRD’s global business from its successful launch in North America.

Greg returned with his family to Australia at the end of 2006 and took a up a position with Adelaide based Codan as General Manager, Business Development, before the opportunity of a posting again in Brazil proved irresistible and he joined the Australian Trade Commission Austrade in February 2008 as Consul-General and Trade Commissioner in São Paulo.

Greg speaks Spanish and Portuguese with fluency and as a fan of São Paulo Football Club and Brazilian churrasco barbecue restaurants, has no trouble enjoying his free time in Brazil!

Greg lives in Sao Paulo with his Canadian wife Lisa and children Sophie (13) and Lachlan (9).
