Gemma Connell

Gemma Connell has an Arts degree with First Class Honours in Government and International Relations from the University of Sydney (2004) and will soon be completeing her Law degree.

She is currently working at the United Nations in the Division for the Advancement of Women in New York, preparing the Division's technical co-operation mission to Afghanistan which is to take place in August 2006.

Gemma has just completed a consultancy here on the Secretary General's In-depth Study on Violence against Women.

She is a founding member of the new website www.actnow.com.au which aims at engaging and informing young people about politics and encouraging them to act on issues of importance and interest to them.
