Mark Byrne

Mark Byrne is a former Uniya's Senior Researcher. He has a PhD in Religious Studies from the University of Sydney and is the author of two books and numerous reports and articles.

His most recent publications before joining Uniya were Migrant Men and Separation: Choices in tough times and The Other 50%: Refugee Men's Health. Since completing his PhD in 1996 he has been a lecturer, group facilitator and researcher. His current projects at Uniya include work on the transitional justice process in East Timor and the Indigenous reconciliation process in Australia, TreatyWatch (a website devoted to Australia's compliance with its human rights treaty obligations) and empirical research on the psychosocial impact of climate change.

Dr Mark Byrne is now Senior Policy Officer for Energy + Water. Public Interest Advocacy Centre in NSW.
