Jennifer Aberhart

Jennifer Aberhart is a primary teacher by profession with a particular interest in both children with literacy problems and the inadequacies of our educational system that significantly contributes to the failure of many of these children.

After a severe car accident left her incapacitated for a couple of years, Jennifer decided to turn her hand to writing to keep herself occupied.

Her first short story was published in the Women's Rape centre anthology, Breaking Free in 2004.

Using the experience she had gained working with children who had difficulties with reading and writing, Jennifer wrote the book Thinking about Reading and Writing which was subsequently endorsed by Jackie French (herself a dyslexic) and published last year by Ginninderra Press.
