Nayeefa Chowdhury

Nayeefa Chowdhury is the founding director of an Internet-based Islamic information service (Light-of-Islam.net). She writes in English & Bengali, and has contributed chapters to two books, also published in periodicals, including magazines, scholarly journals, and newspapers.

Her most recent peer-reviewed research journal article is about the role of Australia-based Muslim Students Associations (Taylor & Francis, in press).

Ms Chowdhury served as a member of the editorial board of the Journal of Islamic Guidance based in Japan.

A proud stay-at-home mother, she previously worked as a systems engineer, an interpreter, and an educator in Australia, Bangladesh and Japan. Ms Chowdhury holds a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering & Computing from Monash University in Australia and is presently studying for an MA in Islamic Studies at the University of New England.
