Ian Smith

Ian Smith has devised and implemented communications strategies on a number of highprofile and complex public affairs projects and domestic and cross-border financial briefs. He has managed the communications for some of the largest financial transactions and is frequently requested to handle major adversarial political briefs.

He was a media advisor to the Victorian Coalition Government under the reformist Premier Kennett from 1992 - 1995 and part of the South Australian Coalition team from 1989 - 1992. Ian was a journalist at the Advertiser in Adelaide and the Daily Advertiser, Wagga Wagga. Ian was raised and educated in Britain, holds a Higher National Diploma in Business and Journalism from the London College of Printing and Journalism. He is on the board of Jirrawun Arts, an Aboriginal arts organisation based in the East Kimberley, and the Committee for Melbourne.
