Bullying and the deconstruction of gender

By Babette Francis - posted Tuesday, 2 June 2015

Despite all the claims of the homosexual lobby - and the expensive programs to combat it - that children are bullied at school because they are homosexual, such bullying is very rare because very few children are homosexual and even fewer identify as such while at school. Children may be bullied or "teased" as we used to call it in previous decades because they are fat, short, the wrong colour, have parents who don't speak English or who provide "funny" lunches for their children (you know like the Mediterranean diet which has now been found to be so good for us!). I told my children that if anyone teased them about being brown (I am Indian by birth and skin colour) they should just laugh and say "Well I won't get skin cancer like you might".

But there is real bullying happening in the adult world in regard to the issue of homosexual "marriage". As an aside, those supporting traditional marriage should not use the words "same-sex" marriage. That sounds innocuous like "single-sex" schools. Don't even use the word "gay" in regard to homosexuals. Our side needs to be accurate in terminology even if our opponents use misleading euphemisms. Call it what is being lobbied for by homosexual activists, 'homosexual "marriage" '. And the bullying for this has already started.

On the front page of The Australian, 29 May 2015, was the headline "Tribute dumped over gay marriage stance" . The news item referred to a tribute that was to be paid to Joe de Bruyn, along serving union leader and retiring ACTU senior vice-president. The tribute was cancelled on the final day of the labour movement's triennial gathering because of outrage over his stance on homosexual "marriage" and his union's approach to industrial agreements. Joe de Bruyn is an Australian trade union official. He is National President of the Shop, Distributive and Allied Employees Association (SDA) and a member of the National Executive of the Australian Labor Party. But never mind his decades of service to the union movement and the ALP - like the rest of us who oppose homosexual "marriage", Joe de Bruyn will be defined as a bigot and homophobe.

Also in The Australian of 29 May 2015 was a full page advertisement by 50 big Australian businesses headed "Join the growing list of Corporate Australia supporting Marriage Equality". What they mean is they are supporting homosexual "marriage", but "Marriage Equality" sounds so much more hygienic. I doubt if these big companies consulted their hapless customers. Did ANZ and Westpac do a survey of all those who have accounts with them?

This strategy is reminiscent of the tactics used by homosexual activists in the US state of Indiana where the legislature passed a Religious Freedom Restoration Act which sought to protect the owners of small businesses who because of religions beliefs did not want to provide cakes or venues for homosexual weddings. These "recalcitrants" are prosecuted and fined so heavily that they are driven out of business. Homosexual activists could find dozens of bakers to decorate their wedding cakes with slogans of their choice, but they prefer to harass Christians who have conscientious objections.

Corporations like Apple, Walmart, Eli Lilly, Angie's List and others threatened to destroy the economy of Indiana (which is not a wealthy state), the cake shop which declined to provide the homosexuals' cake closed permanently, and Indiana Governor Mike Pence felt compelled to move an Amendment to the Religious Freedom Restoration Act which made the Act ineffective.

Closer to home, I know of a Christian immigrant from north-east Asia, married with one child, who was sacked by the Melbourne firm he works for because he politely declined to give a talk to his workplace colleagues on the need to promote gender and sexual diversity, saying he believed in traditional marriage.

The deconstruction of gender does not stop at homosexual "marriage". The National Post (Canada) reported on 27 May 2015 that after successfully lobbying provincial and federal governments to make it easier to amend sex designations on key identity documents, transgender Canadians are now pushing for another change: to abolish gender references altogether from birth certificates.

The British Columbia Human Rights Tribunal has agreed to review complaints filed by the Trans Alliance Society and a handful of transgender and intersex individuals, who argue that doctors should stop assigning the sex of a baby based on an inspection of the baby's genitals at birth when there's a possibility they may identify under a different gender, or no gender, years later.

"Birth certificates (may) give false information about people and characterize them in a way that is actually wrong, that assumes to be right, and causes people … actual harm," said Morgane Oger, a transgender woman in Vancouver and chair of the society.

So an obstetrician is a bigot and heterosexist if he or she announces to happy parents: "your baby is a boy" or "it's a girl".

Then there's the move to abolish terms like "husband" and "wife" from marriage certificates in favour of "partner" - not even the gender-neutral "spouse" - thus reducing marriage to the level of cohabitation or even a business relationship!

As I said, the bullying has already started, and it is not in our schools. The "butcher, the baker and candle-stick maker" as the nursery rhyme goes, who have been driven bankrupt are mute witnesses to the bullying by LGBTIQ activists. Limerick poet F.R Duplantier sums it up best, his poem is headed "Spite".

'Politickle' by F.R. Duplantier

SPITE

We have oodles of gay friends who bake,
Who could make us a fabulous cake: |
To claim discrimination, We need dissimulation --
And a Christian to burn at the stake.
